Yellow Peach

When I talked about peaches at home, it was either the sumomo (Japanese plum) growing in our garden or the yellow peaches from a can.
Our sumomo tree was sadly cut down during a land redevelopment project, but it used to bear lots of fruit every year, and we often snacked on them like treats.
As for the canned yellow peaches—I have this odd memory of eating them whenever I had a cold.
I wonder why that was?

Anyway, back to the main topic—this time I’ve dyed yarn inspired by yellow peaches.

オレンジと黄色の手染め糸 ソックヤーンオレンジと黄色の手染め糸オレンジ色のキッドモヘア

The yarn bases are Alpaca Merino, Original Yarn, and Kid Mohair.
Since I’ve only ever seen yellow peaches in cans, I looked them up and was surprised to learn how many varieties there are!
Their skins range from orange tones that match the flesh, to soft peach pinks like white peaches, and even deep reddish-oranges that resemble mangoes.
I tried to express these skin tones as speckles on the yarn.

When knitted up, the image is of an orange base with pops of red and pink spots throughout.
Because these are speckles, they won’t disrupt the stitch pattern, but instead create a fun, tweed-like texture—similar to nep yarn.
If you’re a peach lover, this is a yarn you won’t want to miss.

The release is scheduled for June 20th at 8:00 PM (JST).
Thank you as always for your support! ☺
