As I had announced on Instagram, the cardigan is finally finished!
It is no exaggeration to say that the blocking is finally over.
As if the blocking was finished, we finally have fall temperatures.
I am now excited about what kind of coordination I am going to do.
Well, I found a few new things about this cardigan.
The beginning of the knitting, and the pockets.
The beginning of the knitting is a method I don't often use for clothes, and at first I didn't know how it was going to go.
After some trial and error, I noticed a link to a video, so I watched it.
I thought, “What was all that trouble?” It was so easy to solve.
Video...there is nothing more reassuring.
And then there is the pocket.
Most of the time, I feel like I rest the yarn that will be the location of the pockets and then make the pockets later.
However, this pattern had no such instructions, and I continued knitting until the end.
And finally...I cut the yarn.
I confess that I am not very good at cutting the yarn in places where I have finished knitting beautifully.
I think the good thing about knitting is that you can start over, but after you cut the yarn, you can't get it back.
So at first, I thought it would be fine without pockets.
But then I decided that everything is a challenge, and I cut it off...
My fears were right on target and I ended up cutting the wrong spot.
It was a little off from where I originally wanted to put it.
Because of the first mistake, I was able to attach the second pocket without any problem.
After knitting several garments, I have a general idea of how to proceed.
But this pattern gave me some new discoveries, and I think it loosened up my rigid thinking.
I guess that's why I can't stop knitting.
This was another wonderful pattern.
