I've been in this business for a few years now.
I am often asked, "Why Bon voyage hand dyed yarn?"
There are several reasons, but to put it simply
I love to travel.
I have not been able to travel much in the past few years due to the COVID-19, but I am especially interested in going abroad.
When I decided to make dyeing wool yarns my career and thought of a concept, what came to mind was the "colors" I saw abroad.
The colors of cities, clothes, interior decorations, etc., are completely different from country to country.
And what is interesting is the combination of colors.
There are so many color schemes that you would never see in Japan, such as the combination of this color and that color.
I want to express the colors I have seen in other countries! This is the idea behind the name of our shop.
Although not yet available in our web store, we used to have a series that depicted the scenery we saw on our travels.
I hope to sell this series again.
The second reason is that traveling and knitting are similar.
What do you mean by that?
Imagine you are going on a trip.
You take out your suitcase, pack your clothes, read the guidebook even though you don't have much time, print out the voucher, and finally leave!
Before you start knitting, you do a lot of preparation, don't you?
Yarn, needles, scissors, markers, and so on.
Then, you suppress the urge to start knitting, measure your gauge, and finally cast on!
Don't you think the excitement before you start knitting and before you go on a trip have something in common?
Knitting takes time.
I want to say "Bon voyage (knitting) !” I chose this name .
Thank you for taking a look at my blog.
Since I already have an Instagram, I was wondering what to write about on my blog, and that's why I've been slow in updating it.
My instagram is mainly about yarn, but I will write about my past trips here.
Thank you for your cooperation.
