Taxi situation in Taiwan

Good evening, everyone.
I have decided to write about Taiwan again, as I am going to sell the upcoming 'Taiwan' series.
Today I would like to talk about the taxi situation.

Have you ever taken a taxi abroad?
And what is your image of taxis?
When you look at a guidebook, you will always find that it says: 'Be careful when taking a taxi'.
I was ripped off twice when I was young, and once I was almost cheated.
Each in a different country.
That is why I am very careful when I take a taxi abroad.

Riding a taxi in Taiwan is roughly the same as in Japan.
In the city, there are many taxi drivers, and you can also ask for a taxi at a shop.
The only slight differences are that you have to open and close the door yourself and always fasten your seatbelt.
The other thing is that they are much cheaper than in Japan.
So I often used taxis when I wanted to save time.

Most of them only spoke Chinese, but as long as you know the address, the rest is fine.
We looked at a map app just in case, but it was never dangerous.
So I enjoyed the view of Taiwan on the way.
Taipei Station from the outside was amazing!

One driver started popping the monitor when he realised we were Japanese.
When we wondered if he was OK, a certain Enka singer appeared on the screen.
And then the driver started singing.
I asked him a question in Japanese, but he didn't seem to understand Japanese.
The enka song continued, and we sang along when we could understand it, and the taxi had a snack-like atmosphere.

However, wherever you go, there are people with bad ideas.
When travelling, take more than enough care.
