Why do I feel like I've been here before, even though it's my first time here?
A town lined with old brick buildings.
Piles of dried fruits and spices.
None of this should be familiar, yet sepia-toned memories of my childhood flood my mind.
I walk to my destination, smelling the aroma of Chinese herbs wafting in the air.

I arrive at the Yongle Fabric Market(永楽布業商場).
The stately, much older building made me a little hesitant to enter.
A peek into the first floor reveals a food market.
Next to a table crowded with locals, an old lady is sewing on a sewing machine.
Is this really the place to find what I'm looking for...?

As I fearfully climbed the stairs, I found myself in a world of gorgeous fabrics!
The aisles are lined with stores, and the goods are so numerous that they overflow into the aisles.
Among them, the most conspicuous item is "Traditional floral fabric," a long-loved fabric in Taiwan.
Large pink and red peonies and roses bloom gorgeously in the cloth.
The background colors are also vivid, and just looking at them is exciting.
If you find a fabric you are interested in, take the plunge and ask the shopkeeper for help.
Even if your Chinese is not very good, a cheerful greeting and gesture will do (probably).
