Goto Islands

The unseasonal sea was very quiet.
All you could hear was the sound of the waves.
”Surprisingly, it's nice.”
My friend, who had declared that he was not interested in an island trip before we went there, murmured to me.

The sea is mysterious.
What looked emerald or deep blue from afar was surprisingly clear up close.
Taking advantage of the absence of people, I lifted up the hem of my skirt and took a short dip in the sea.
It was almost October and the sea was warm enough to envelop us.

In front of us was a piercing blue sky.
And an endless expanse of ocean.
Surrounded by mountains, there were no cars driving along the coastline.

There was no one.

In such a vast space, I felt as if I was the only one left alone in the world.
I felt uneasy and looked at her and saw her clicking the shutter of her camera as if she was obsessed with something.
I am a little relieved to see her as usual.
Thank heavens I'm not alone in the world.
”I'd better get going, we're going to be late!"
I called out to her and headed off to my next destination.
