The sweater is now complete.

Due to the year-end and New Year holidays, I have not been able to update this page.
For my first post in a while, I would like to write about the completed sweater.
Here is the finished sweater!

Close-up view of the fabric shows it to be quite unique!
This one is knit with a total of three strands: one original yarn (brown) and two alpaca lace strands (red and navy blue).
When I laid out the yarns, I could not imagine that the colors would be like this.
This is because the original yarn is the thickest and I thought it would be more brown.
I was surprised that the red was so assertive and the dark blue was so inconspicuous.
You never know until you knit it.

And the pattern is “Men's Classic Raglan Pullover” by Jane Richmond.
As the name “Classic” suggests, this sweater has a neat, standard, old-fashioned shape.
This is the first time I knit this pattern, and it is so easy to knit that I would recommend it to everyone.
If you are new to knitting top-down sweaters, especially with English patterns, this is the pattern to start with.
It is such a simple and precise pattern.

There is another reason why the pattern is so simple.
It is that you fill in the number of stitches, etc., yourself, depending on the size.
Most patterns will have the knit stitches for all sizes in the text.
For example
Cast on 45(45,50,50,55)(60,60,65,65)...
and so on.
In this pattern, the alphabet is assigned to the place of the number of eyes, and you can see the corresponding table and fill it in yourself.
This correspondence table is also easy to read.
I checked it twice as I filled it in myself.
Looking at the pattern again, it only takes 2 pages as far as the actual knitting part.
Short!
If the text is long, it would be hard to translate it one by one, but this one has only one size of stitch notation and simple, short sentences, so you can work on it without being overwhelmed.

This time, for the first time in a long time, the hems are braided with 2×2 rib.
It gives a more casual impression than 1×1 rib knitting.
Speaking of 2×2 rib, the Bind off is my worst enemy.
It had been a while since I had done this, so I watched some videos and found a kind of secret technique that makes it easy to do.
Being a slob, I decided to try this technique.
It was easy to do!

You may have noticed that the area around the bind off is slanted...!
To put it simply, the order of the knitting is swapped to make a 1×1 rib bind off.
Since we are switching the order, the foreshortening must be diagonal.
I decided to try the 2×2 rib bind off this time without making it easier.

This sweater is simple and easy to use, so you will want to knit many sweaters.
I enjoyed the way the colors came out in the three-ply, so I will try it again.
Also, this pattern is also available in women's version, so any size can be used.
I hope everyone will try knitting it.
And please let me know if you have any recommendations for the 2×2 rib bind off!
