Good evening, everyone.
Today I would like to introduce our regular new items.
Since there are many kinds of products, I would like to announce them several times.
I started with a single color.
I dyed four different types.
The bases are cotton, HT merino sock, and alpaca lace.
The photo shows cotton.
When I think of hand-dyed yarns, I tend to focus on colorful yarns, but monochromatic yarns also have a lot of charm.
I think monochromatic yarns are more beautiful for pattern knitting mixed with cross-knitting and so on.
Also, as a characteristic of colors, low brightness = dark colors make it difficult to see the pattern, while high brightness colors make it easier to see the pattern.
The lightness of this yarn is just right for pattern knitting, so it is a color that allows you to knit carefully.
I also recommend knitting different colors together.
It is very difficult to dye a single yarn so that multiple colors appear evenly.
However, if you knit different colors together, you can easily achieve this.
If you choose colors that are close together, you will get a light, nebulous color variation, and if the difference in color is large, you will get a clearly contrasting knitted fabric.
Personally, I would like to knit a cardigan with four strands of four different colors of alpaca lace.
And as I mentioned before, the type of dye used differs between vegetable fibers (cotton) and animal fibers (HT merino sock and alpaca lace).
This is because some materials may not dye well or have a lower fastness.
This time, too, we mixed the colors to achieve a close color match, but there are still differences.
The darkest blue has a difference in color compared to the others.
These four colors represent the gradual change in color from offshore to shallows when the sea of Gotō is viewed from a distance.
How can the colors change like this? If you are skeptical, please visit Gotō and see for yourself.
You will be amazed at the beautiful scenery and delicious food.
I will introduce other yarns in my next blog.
The sale will start at 20:00 on June 28th.
